Ronald Noorman / Bio
Ronald Noorman, who passed away five years ago, is known for his works on paper and prints. His drawings, mostly in black and white, are characterized by simple forms. They are expressive in execution and have an intimate scale. For the spectator it is exciting to follow the artist’s hand in the traces of charcoal, gouache, pastel, ink and pencil. On show will be a selection of his last works on paper in which color plays a more prominent role.
Noorman (1951–2018) lived and worked in Amsterdam. After his study at the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam he only devoted himself to drawing. His works are internationally exhibited and collected, such as Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Rijksmuseum Amsterdam, Teylers Museum, Haarlem, Frans Halsmuseum, Haarlem, Museum Folkwang Essen and Staatliche Graphische Sammlung, Munich amongst others.
